Skull Norma - Frontalis
External nose
- The upper one-third → nasal bones
- The lower two-thirds → cartilages
- Meet at nasion
Processes of Maxilla

- Three processes:
- Frontal
- Zygomatic
- Alveolar
Zygomatic Bone

- Zygomatic arch is formed by temporal bone

Supraorbital Notch

- Transmits supraorbital nerve and vessels
- Located at:
- Junction of lateral 2/3 and medial 1/3 of superior orbital margin
- Superciliary arch lies superior to it
- Both notches meet at glabella
Margins of Orbit
Margins of orbit | Details |
Lateral | Formed by zygomaticofrontal suture |
Inferior | - Lateral 1/3: Zygomatic bone - Medial 2/3: Maxillary bone |
Medial | - Superior part: Frontal bone - Inferior part: Lacrimal crest on frontal process of maxilla |
Inferior margin of nasal bone | Articulates with nasal cartilages |
Infraorbital foramen | - Located just below inferior orbital margin - Transmits infraorbital nerve |
Vomer bone | Located at centre of nasal aperture |
Canine Fossa
- Depression above canine teeth on maxilla
- Incisive fossa lies above incisors
